Your First Visit to Rocktown Familly Dental Care
To become established as a patient with us, we ask that you complete several forms, including your medical and dental history, found here. If you have current x-rays, we request that you have them sent to us; if not, we will recommend a set to update your records.
Also, please be sure to bring your insurance card to your first visit so we can add your information to our records.
Your First Dental Exam with Us
At your first visit with us, our highly skilled dentist, Dr. Joan Anderson, will conduct a thorough oral examination to assess the overall health of your teeth and gums. If Dr. Anderson detects an issue like a cavity or damaged tooth, she will explain her recommendations, and our team will create a personalized treatment plan.
Will I Have a Cleaning at My First Appointment?
If your gums are healthy, we'll proceed with a gentle yet effective teeth cleaning; however, if we detect gum disease, we will recommend a specialized cleaning at a later date to ensure optimal oral health.

At Rocktown Family Dental Care, we care about your comfort and want you to have an exceptional experience with us. Our state-of-the-art operatories are equipped with TVs, so you can enjoy your favorite shows while we work skillfully to meet your dental needs.

Our Community Involvement
Rocktown Family Dental Care is dedicated to giving back, and we are highly active in our community! We coach several local sports teams, including baseball and softball for Harrisonburg Little League and soccer for SVU, and are a stroke and turn judge for the Valley Swim League.
We also volunteer for the Blue Ridge Free Clinic and the RAM clinic and provide treatment for the Suitcase Clinic at James Madison University. Our team loves giving kids a positive start with their oral health and enjoys giving dental demonstrations to Valley Montessori and New Beginnings Montessori.
